In Bollywood’s upcoming movie Deepika is playing a quirky avatar. Dips is seen in a typical South Indian avatar, playing the role of “Meenamma Lochni”. She looks funny and bindaas South Indian girl opposite Shahrukh.

Chennai Express is a Rohit Shetty film, produced by Gauri Khan under her production banner Red Chillies Entertainment. This is the second collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone after the 2007 blockbuster Om Shanti Om and the first collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Rohit Shetty. Chennai Express is about a man’s journey from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and what happens along the way after he falls in love with the Deepika who is playing a daughter of a don.

Dips is playing a fun loving bindaas South Indian girl Meenamma Lochni. She is spotted wearing a bharatanatyam costume with gajra, gold jewelry, bindi, gold jhumki, bangles etc Deepika looks resplendent in her Southern avatar. In many scenes she is spotted wearing half and half traditional south Indian saree. Plain saree with traditional borders and contrast blouse is part of her look in this movie.She looks pretty and refreshing in traditional sarees, pavadais and ghagras. Deepika also puts up a little Bharatnatyam performance in between all the romancing. The traditional half-sari,is like a bridge outfit for girls too young to graduate to a sari, has been adopted in the movie.

It is quite an easy wear. Tuck one end of the dupatta into the skirt and draping the other end in the seedha palla style.
