First look of “Madhuri” in Gulab Gang


The upcoming movie of Madhuri ‘Gulab Gang’ is in the news now a days. The filmmaker Anubhav Sinha has cast Juhi Chawla and Madhuri in the lead roles. The movie is based on women vigilante group Gulab Gang. Evergreen Madhuri, plays the role of a  strong and violent gang-leader, fighting against social injustice. The movie is plotted in rural India, both Juhi and Madhuri will be seen in a de-glam avatar and will have a rustic look.

“You will see a completely different side of me. I am playing an aggressive woman here. She is tough. This film gave me a chance to do some stunts too,” says 46 years old actress. The movie is directed by Soumik Sen. Mahie Gill and Shilpa Shukla are an other star caste of the movie.


Costumes –

Costume designer Eka Lakhani  has given both the actress a very De-glam rustic look. She shifted through several shades to find the one that made the cut. “These women are fighters. We wanted a bold, organic pink to reflect that,” says the designer. You can see Rajoo aka Madhuri in pink saris that stand out in earthy tones of the set. She used cotton fabric for sarees with strip or simple plain blouses. The designer has put lot of efforts to define character with the costumes.

Gulaab Gang is produced by Anubhav Sinha’s new banner Benaras Mediaworks Pvt Ltd. The movie will have Bollywood tadka with gloss; frills and also include dance sequences by Saroj Khan. The movie will hit silver screens this year on Women’s Day, March 8.
