For the love of pink
There’s everybody’s favorites – black and red. And then there’s pink. Try adding it to your outfit and you’ll look and feel energized. There’s something about it that simply spells happiness. Once you know how to pull it off, you’ll love it and keep coming back to it every so often because you now know you look stunning with pink on you. Ah, pink. You can wear it on your choli, lehenga, dupatta, on your pants or everyone’s all-time favorites, pink stilettos.
With pink, mild make-up and delicate jewelry work best. Some light blush with some pink gloss will make you look fresh. Jhumkas work well with pink patialas. High heels in bright colors like silver, gold and white pair well with a pink outfit. Gold ethnic slippers seem to be a hit in Bollywood whenever there’s a pink outfit involved. We’ll see more of that on Shilpa Shetty and the new bride, Soha Ali Khan.
Here at Bollywood Vougue, we’re more concerned about Indian ethnic attire so we’ll stick to pink on fabulous outfits like lehenga cholis, sarees and blouses. Let’s take a look at some of Bollywood’s favorite people in the color of the day. We’ll begin with Soha Ali Khan’s wedding with Kunal Khemu. Doesn’t she look pretty in this hot pink lehenga choli by Sanjay Garg at their reception?
No surprises who’s next.. Kareena Kapoor in this pretty petal-pink saree by Manish Malhotra.
A great example of good accessorizing, Kareena in a petal pink saree with a watch and nails in hot pink.
Here’s Soha again in a pink number by Ritu Kumar at her mehendi ceremony.
If all pink is not your style, go a la Malaika Khan in this lehenga choli with a pink and orange dupatta by Preeti S Kapoor at the Soha-Kunal wedding reception.
We love how men get to be a part of the passion for pink at Soha’s wedding with turbans.
Pink can be a great choice if you want to add a generous dash of spunk and shine like Konkana Sen did with her pink blouse. We loved how she went with medium length sleeves and a full neckline.
If you dare, you could go all pink in varying shades like Amrita Arora did with this pretty pink lehenga choli by Shantanu & Nikhil.
And here’s Kareena again in a glittering lehenga choli with a lovely pink dupatta. We love what the pink dupatta does to her outfit!
Moving on from Soha’s wedding, let’s take a look at some more Bollywood celebs in style in pink:
A dazzling Aishwarya Rai. We love her here!
Here’s Neelam Kothari in a pink salwar kameez. A salwar kameez! Finally!
A lively Shilpa Shetty, in no small part thanks to her pink suit we believe.
Sophie, as lovely as ever in a lehenga choli-saree convertible.
Divya Khosla with minimal accessories and chic gold slippers.
And finally, Vidya Balan in a pleasant pink saree.
