Priyanka Chopra: En route to Hollywood
Priyanka Chopra started her journey in the international arena with a music video “In the City” along with Will.I.am. It was the official song of NFL Thursday Night Football for that season.The song traces the rise of the actress from her small town roots to her success as an actor. In 2013 she released her second single ‘Exotic’ featuring international rapper PitBull. The video has over 75 million views on youtube and has made into the top hundred of the Canadian chart . Her third single ‘I Can’t Make You Love Me’ was ranked 28th on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. She scared screen space with other singers like Katy Perry, The Black Eyed Peas, Will.i.am and others in John Lennon’s music video ‘Imagine’.
The Bollywood Diva signed on with leading fashion brand Guess as their new face, the Guess Girl for their holiday campaign. She was the first Indian model to pose for the label, joining the illustrious line of stunning beauties. The series of black and white photos shot by Bryan Adams are classic and laidback. The Guess advertising campaign ran in popular US magazines including Harper’s Bazaar, ELLE, Marie Claire, Hollywood Reporter and more.
By then Priyanka had become a known face in Hollywood. Then came ‘Quantico’ the tele series which took Priyanka’s career to new heights. She made her way into the Hollywood scene with the American thriller series Quantico on ABC network. In this series she plays an FBI agent Alex Parrish a top recruit who is aggressive and tough as nails. Priyanka holds her own on the show and is bold and sassy. She won the People’s Choice Awards 2016 for Best Actor in a New TV show for her role in Quantico, and is said to be the first South Asian woman to do so.
She is featured on the current cover for Elle’s sixth annual ‘Women in TV’ issue and looks absolutely breathtaking in an all white Valentino outfit. Priyanka Chopra makes it to the top five list of path breaking women in television. A trailblazer all the way, the actress will soon be making her Hollywood film debut with the Baywatch movie. A remake of the iconic and much loved television show Baywatch, the movie has actors like Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Kelly Rohrbach and Alexandra Daddario playing the lead.
