What is EID?
Eid means feast, festival, holiday. It also means “to turn, to recur, to come again and again since it returns every year thus the meaning is changed and it is meant the festival, the feast or holiday”. Muslims wish each other Eid Mubarak after performing the Eid prayer. The celebration continues for three days for Eid UL-Adha (or Al-Adha).
It is one of the most popular festival of Muslims. Greeting each other, wearing new clothes, organizing get together’s, traditional feasts are very important part of the festival.
Thinking what to wear at Eid? Check out what your favorite star’s look and what’s in vogue –
What to wear – Eid is all about heavy and rich dress materials. Fancy Salwar Kurta, lawn kaftan, abaya Pakistani suits and Anarkali suit are a few of the most popular ones. This Eid you can try light fabric with beautiful work as Eid is falling in hot summer. Rich work of zari, zardosi and gold embroidery is popular for night parties and get togethers. Sharara style sarees, Anarkali with contrast jacket look and Sharara lehenga’s are also quite popular for high end parties. For day wear try the elegant prints, floral designs and patterns. These traditional outfits adorned with fancy lace extensions are in vogue.
Ethnic Jewelry – High end chic jewelry is quite cool when teamed up with your traditional outfit. Long drop earrings or traditional jhumkis are a perfect wear with your Anarkali or Pakistani suit. You can also team up a sleek cut choker, kundan or polki set that is perfect combination with your Pakistani outfit.
Make up tips – Apply foundation on your face evenly overall as your makeup base. Smoky eyes look is always in vogue for evenings but for day wear keep it nude. A light peach or pink eyeshadow is perfect for hot summers. Apply mascara on upper than lower lashes. I recommend thick black mascara in black or gray. You can use little shimmer around the brow line to add an edgy look. Wear a rosy pink, red or peach blush according to your choice, style and what suits your complexion. Wear a plushy pink, honeysuckle, or red for lips.
Hairdo – You can keep your hair straight open with accessorizing it with a sweet bobby pin or a sleek sparkle hair band. You can go with a neatly tight bun for day wear and a soft beachy curls or long straight locks for the evening look.
Footwear – Team up your traditional attire with a high heel pumps or strappy sandals. A platform heel shoes are also cool.
Last but not the least is Mehndi or Indian Tattoo. Applying Arabic or full traditional Mehndi over your hands are quite chic this Eid-UL-Fitr. You can go with simple designs of flowers, peacock, and leaves with some glitter over it is perfect for this festive season.
